Ruby and I planned a 3 week road trip out west for our friends and colleagues in Creation Research and Education ministry to join us. We were joined by Joe Hubbard with Creation Research in the UK (www.CreationResearch-UK.net) and Craig Hawkins with Creation Research in Tasmania Australia (www.CreationResearch.net). Also joining us was our friends and supporters of both our ministry and Creation Research, Dennis and Cheryl Goke and their son Matthew. We became friends with Dennis and Matthew on the fossil dig in Kansas in 2023 with David Rives. This trip included stops at the Denver Gem and Fossil Show, a fossil dig in the Green River Formation in Kemmerer WY, 5 days exploring Mt St Helens, another fossil dig in the Green River Formations then a fossil dig in the Hell Creek Formation at Glendive MT. 2025 Denver Gem & Fossil Show
The first stop on our 2025 trip out west was to the 3rd largest Gem and Fossil show in the world, held in Denver Colorado. We were joined by our Creation Research colleagues Joe Hubbard and Craig Hawkins, as well as supporters Cheryl and Dennis Goke and their son Matthew.
No amount of funding would enable Glenn and Ruby to travel to every fossil bed in the world. Travel to Fossil Shows like the one in Denver and the one in Tucson last year make it possible for us to meet the experts in other areas of the world, learn from their experiences and purchase fossils from these distant beds. This allow them to efficiently bring the evidences for the truth of God’s word to you.
Our colleague from Tasmania, Craig Hawkins has been to many fossil shows in Australia but never one like this. He was overwhelmed by the superabundance of the fossils and gems on display. He commented about how could someone come to a show like this and see such a vast amount of fossils and think they were rare. There were tens to hundreds of thousands on display and assuredly hundreds times more stored in warehouses nearby for replenishing those sold. We bought around a thousand fossils and that wouldn’t scratch the surface of those being sold by a single booth and there were hundreds of booths. It was confirmation of the now famous creation quote that “one thing all geologist agree on, there are billions of dead things, buried in rock layers, laid down by water, that cover the entire earth.” This show, like the Tucson show last year, was one more evidence for a global flood.
Trips like this allow us in creation research and education ministries to not only have a means to support this ministry by selling the fossils we find, but it allows us to grow in our experience and knowledge by interacting with fossils digers from around the world.
