If the Flood was a worldwide event, what would you EXPECT to see?
“Then the Lord said, “I will wipe out mankind whom I have created from the face of the land; mankind, and animals as well, and crawling things, and the birds of the sky. For I am sorry that I have made them… I am about to destroy them with the earth…I Myself am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which there is the breath of life” (Gen 6:7-17)
“The earth was formed out of water and by water, through which THE WORLD AT THAT TIME WAS DESTROYED, being FLOODED with water” (2 Peter 3:5 )
1. Global scale flood-deposits.
The extensive nature of sedimentary rock across the globe suggests a global flood. Mt St Helens eruption in 1980 proved that such deposits can happen catastrophically (25 ft pyroclastic deposits in 3 hr, 600 ft sediment deposit in one day.
Sedimentary layers across the globe are 1.5 miles deep on average. Such extensive water deposits cannot be explained apart from a global flood.
Individual layers (e.g. Tapeats Sandstone) cover entire continents and extend across oceans to other continents.
Folded layers indicate bending of the sediment while soft & fresh showing that all the layers were laid down at the same time.
2. Abrupt Boundaries Between Laterally Extensive Layers
All over the world we see laterally extensive layers with abrupt boundaries. If deposited slowly over long ages, where is the evidence for this. There would be evidence of biological and hydrological activity but there isn’t.
Where is the soil development between layers if laid down over long-periods? Lack of soil shows all the layers were laid down over a short time.
No evidence of bioturbation (plant roots and animals burrows) which would mix the materials and erase abrupt layers.
If no vegetation cover then land is susceptible to severe gully erosion. Where are the gullies cutting through the layers
3. Polystrate fossils
Polystrate simply means ‘many layers’. How do trees stand up without root systems, and not decompose for 100’s of millions of years while supposedly being buried slowly by local floods? How do fish lay dead for over 100 years without decomposing while slowly being buried by local yearly floods?
There are hundreds of polystrate trees already found from Texas to NE Canada. And hundreds more found from Europe to Australia.
These tree fossils stand vertical with no root, no branches, and usually no bark.
These fossilized trees testify to the layers being all laid down in a single event over a short time!
4. Global flood-shaped landforms.
The geomorphology of the earth SCREAMS of a global flood. Just fly across the USA and look out the window and you see evidence of erosion of massive proportions unlike anything observed today.
Canyons around the globe demonstrate extreme, catastrophic erosion (10,000 submarine canyons, & >150 ‘grand’ canyons.
Canyons consistently have under-sized rivers. Today’s rates of erosion cannot explain the canyons.
Water gaps in mountain ridges indicating a breach in the ridge by a massive flood.
5. Vast numbers of globally deposited fossils
A Lagerstätte is a German term for “storage place.” It is a fossil deposit with a high concentration of exceptionally well-preserved fossils that still contain soft tissue.
There are over 200 Lagerstätte deposits that include over 45 countries covering every continent.
There are over 1 billion fossils found with fossils found on every continent
There are marine (ocean) fossils found on the highest mountains, even 29,000 ft Mount Everest.
6. Fast Fossilization.
Fossilization requires rapid burial before the organism can be scavenged or decomposed, deep burial for sufficient overburden pressures and burial in oxygen depleted and mineral rich sediment. It does not take long time to form a fossil, just the right conditions.
Fossilized fish found in the act of laying eggs and eating other fish indicate rapid burial.
Common to find fossilized fish poop but try finding fish poop in water bodies. It dissolves too fast to be buried and fossilized.
Common to have objects, such as paper roses, gloves, hats, teddy bears, fossilized by permineralization in matter of days by mineral rich natural hot-springs or creeks.
Abundance of creatures fossilized in such immaculate condition that we can identify them. No time for decomposition.
Fish tracks and fish swim lines made in sediment are preserved before washing away.
7. Living Fossils
Living Fossils are plants and animals that match those living today without evolving. Darwin coined the term ‘living fossils’ and claimed they were anomalies. “These anomalous forms may almost be called living fossils; they have endured to the present day” (Darwin, Origin of the Species, 1859). But we know today, 170 years later, that they are the norm not the exception.
Living fossils have been found all across the phyletic classification system from plants, to animals, and microorganisms.
Evolutionists claim any change is evidence of evolution but also claim Living Fossils, that is no change (stasis), is evolution. Is that valid science?
Scientists now want to do away with the term because of its afront to evolution. “I would favor retiring the term ‘living fossil’ altogether, as it is generally misleading” (Yong, The Falsity of Living Fossils, The Scientist, 2015).
8. Mixed and Incomplete Ecosystems.
Few, if any, life forms, whether plants, animals or microorganisms, live independent lives but form a complex community of organisms interacting together and with their surrounding physical environment. This network of interconnected organisms functioning together is an ecosystem. Yet when we find fossils, they rarely have the other ecosystem components necessary for life or they are found with components that do not match their ecosystem. Fossils do not indicate how they lived, where they lived, when they died, or where they died, and rarely indicate how they died!
We consistently find marine creatures buried with freshwater creatures plus land plants and land animals.
We rarely find animals buried with the food sources, such as plants, needed for their life. For example, dinosaurs found with grass in their stomach contents but no grass fossils.
We find horse fossils buried with fish, horse teeth and sloth bones buried with shark teeth and stingray teeth, pin oak leaves in marine deposits, ammonites with pine branches…
9. Ice Age explained.
Secular scientists cannot explain what causes an Ice Age but the Bible does! An Ice Age is not caused by extreme cold which would not have sufficient moisture in atmosphere for snow accumulation. The primary driver for an Ice Age is warm oceans pumping moisture into cold atmosphere! The Global Deluge of the Bible Explains the Ice Age!
Warm oceans due to warm pre-flood seas & fountains of the deep pumping heated water into oceans.
Cold atmosphere due to spatially-extensive, and massive volcanic eruptions pumping ash into the atmosphere.
Climate models predict an Ice Age from 200 to 700 years after the flood.
10. Written and Oral Eye-Witness Accounts.
The Bible claims to be the inspired Word of God. Archeology, historical documents and oral accounts from cultures all over the world have corroborated the Biblical accounts. The Bible describes Jesus as the Creator (John 1:1; Col 1:15-17). If the previous nine geohydrologic evidences are not enough, how about Jesus’ Words?
There are over 300 cultures around the world have a global flood legend.
Jesus quoted from the creation account in Genesis and stated His belief in the Global Flood.
Luke 17:26-27 “And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it shall be also in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the Ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all”
